Vitor Matos wants Swansea City to keep a tight focus on the game-by-game rigours of the Championship as they prepare to round off a hectic festive schedule at Millwall this afternoon (3pm).

The Swans make the trip to the Den off the back of five wins in their last seven games, including wins over Oxford and West Bromwich Albion either side of New Year.

That has seen the Swans head coach face questions about whether his side can now start looking at reaching the higher placings of the league table following a turnaround in form.

But Matos has been quick to point out that the run of results has been down to the focus on the immediate tasks at hand, and he wants that to remain moving into 2026.

“The results we have had have shown that football can change quickly,” he said.

“But, that also means it can still change and go a different way again.

“So, I think it is clear the job for us is to stay focused on the process, to stay focused on what we need to do to improve.

“The job is not done. I am so pleased with what the boys are doing but we have to keep this going, it does not stop.

“We are moving in the right direction, but there are plenty more steps to take and this game, again, is a very tough one after only a couple of days from the West Brom game.

“We still need to play every game like it is a final and we will need to find the solutions to play a team who are fighting to be in the play-offs.”
